How difficult is the Kashmir Great Lakes trek?

The Kashmir Great Lakes trek is one of the prettiest treks in India. Yet, you’ll get to enjoy its rewards only after a bit of hardwork and toil. The trek is not as easy as the pictures make it seem. It is of moderate difficulty. Here’s Sandhya explaining what makes the Kashmir Great Lakes difficult.

What makes the Kashmir Great Lakes trek difficult?

  • Long hours of trekking everyday. Each day comprises of around 6-7 hours of trekking.
  • Considerable altitude gain everyday, of around 1500 – 2000 ft.
  • Three strenuous pass crossings – Gadsar Pass, Nichnai Pass and Zach Pass.
